When signing up or adding someone to your account, we are required to conduct Customer Due Diligence to determine who the controlling person is that has effective control over the account.
In part of keeping your account, and our Invest Direct safe, there are certain requirements that we need to adhere to.
Acceptable forms of Photo ID
New Zealand or international passport
New Zealand firearms licence
New Zealand drivers licence including learner and restricted plus one of the below:
Document issued by a government agency that contains the person's name and signature e.g. SuperGold Card
Bank statement issued by a registered bank to the person in 12 months immediately preceding the date of the application
A statement issued by a government agency e.g. IRD, in the 12 months immediately preceding the date of the application
Community Services Card
Full birth certificate from any country
Acceptable forms of Address Verification
An invoice, statement, letter or contract addressed to the customer, or at least their initials, and surname from any of the following sources:
a registered bank
a driver’s license issued within the previous 12 months which notes the customer’s address
utility providers (water, electricity, gas, phone (including mobile), broadband)
professional service providers -lawyer, accountant, doctor
major service providers – Sky TV, internet provider, insurance
central government correspondence from Inland Revenue, WINZ, Housing NZ e.g. a benefit or pension statement, vehicle registration, property valuation or rates notice
electoral role confirmation
government controlled source
regulator controlled source e.g. FSP Register
communications from a current employer e.g:payslip
a tenancy agreement
any biometric or electronic verification system to which Hatch subscribes e.g. Cloudcheck
a screenshot of the customer’s RealMe address record, provided the green verification message is evident
Please note that this must be dated within the past 12 months.
Who Can Certify my ID?
Embassy, consular or diplomatic officer or Commonwealth representative (as defined in the Oaths and Declarations Act 1957)
Member of the police
Justice of the Peace
Notary Public
Registered medical doctor (including anaesthetists)
Registered teacher
Kaumatua (confirmed by a reputable source)
Minister of religion
Member of Parliament
A member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants
Lawyer (as defined in the Lawyers and Conveyancers Act 2006)
Please note that the certification must be dated within the past 3 months of us receiving your ID.
If you do not have access to one of the above Trusted Referee's, please notify our team, as we may be able to digitally certify your ID.
