New Issues

Written by Support Team

A "new issue" of securities is an investment opportunity which can include bonds and other debt securities, or share offers (also known as Initial Public Offers or IPOs). For a list of all upcoming listings and key dates please see here (https://www.nzx.com/upcoming_listings)

See each section below for more information about the New Issue process:

Offer Period

When we are involved in the distribution of a new issue, we invite investors to participate in the offer through Invest Direct. Participation can be done by submitting your ‘bid’ online through the New Issues page. Please note that your bid is an obligation to purchase after the offer has closed.

If you would also like to be included in our new issues email distribution list, please contact us at [email protected]

Offer Document

The offer document may be a prospectus and/or an investment statement which contains comprehensive information about the company and the terms of the offer. All documents will be available online under the ‘New issues’ page of your account. Please ensure that you read the offer document carefully before submitting a bid in the issue.

Firm allocation

If you submitted a bid for an offer, we expect that this is an indication of what you would like to receive and is an amount you are willing to pay on receipt of a full allocation. Allocations may be subject to demand and scaling, therefore you may not receive the full amount that you bid.

When we are distributing new issues, we endeavour to treat all investors as equitably as possible; we distribute using the Firm Allocation methodology because it is the best way for us to provide certainty to an investor, and comfort to us, that we will meet our obligations to an issuer.

Application & Payment

If you have secured an allocation, we will send you a contract note by email outlining the allocation amount, price or yield that has been set and when payment needs to be made into your account. Our full payment details are located at the bottom of the contract note.

Allocation of securities

After receiving your payment, the security will be allocated to your CSN on the issue date which will be outlined in the product disclosure statement. You are then able to trade the security on or after the date of quotation.
