If a company that you own shares in changes its name, you will need to adjust your portfolio to ensure that you can accurately record your past and future trading activities in that company.
Step 1 - Take a copy of your old movements
- When in your Invest Direct portfolio, select 'holdings' at the top of the page
- To view all movements for a specific stock, click on the 'movements' link at the end of your stocks line in your portfolio
- From here, you can take a screen shot or record all of your stocks movements
Step 2 - Create new movements to mirror the old movements
- After taking a copy of your old movements, return to the main Portfolio page and create new movements under the new code/ticker
- To create a new movement, select on the 'New Movement' button, and follow the steps from here.
- When entering a new movement, ensure that you copy the exact details from the previous stocks movements into the new lines
- Please note that you will need to repeat this process for each individual movement
Step 3 - Delete old movements
- When the new movements mirror the old movements, you can go back to each movement remove them from your portfolio by selecting the delete button (the red circle with the minus symbol)
When you trade under the new stock's ticker going forward, your trading activities will be represented in your portfolio under the correct company name and stock code.*
*please note that the Invest Direct online portfolio can only be relied upon to obtain and view data for the shares that you have traded via our trading services and the resulting corporate actions. The Invest Direct online portfolio does not necessarily display an accurate representation of your entire share holdings and this should be confirmed with the appropriate share registries.
