How do I place an order?

Once your Invest Direct account is activated, making your first investment is super easy.

Simply log into your account, top up your cash account, choose your shares or bonds and place your order online.

Are you buying or selling shares for the first time? Firstly, click on any button that says 'buy' or ‘sell’. These buttons can be found in the top right, or on the watchlists, or quote screens.

Put in the instrument that you'd like to trade.

Once you click on this option, it will populate the stock. From here, you select the amount that you'd like to trade and its price limit. If you'd like some further information on market depth to help you choose your price limit, check out our Market Depth help tab.

​Selling
​
​To sell shares on the NZX, you will need to have your FIN handy. If you do not have a copy of you FIN, you will need to contact your shares registry. Your company's share registry can be found on the NZX website.
